BIOGRAPHICAL PROFILE
Hank Garcia

Hank Garcia has been a teacher for over two decades from pre-school age through adults. Much of that time was spent in the Middle School setting where he was honored with “Teacher-of-the-Year” given for his creativity in teaching and making curriculum come alive for students.

As a professor for Azusa Pacific University in the Teacher Education Department, he has taught courses on Teacher Preparation; Integrating Curriculum, Methods for Math & Methods for Science as well as team-building between teachers and parents.

Garcia said he loves teaching because he himself loves learning so much and there are few things in life as rewarding as watching people broaden their horizons and reach new heights. The quotes by William James “The great use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it” are what he bases all his endeavors on.

As a facilitator for Bright Start Family Literacy, he has lead both large and small groups in the fields of Education and Parenting and he is enthused to be part of a team whose goal is to spark a love for learning by offering such tangible methods to achieve it.
