Bright
Start Educational Consultants, Inc. began in 1995
as the small home-based educational consulting business of
founder Gary Surdam. Gary Surdam, an elementary
school educator with 13 years' experience, had a vision: to
make the dream of literacy a reality for every child.
Surdam
began conducting literacy workshops at local schools in English
and Spanish. Surdam's caring, dynamic teaching style
and the practical information provided in the workshops made
the demand for Bright Start Educational Consultants, Inc.
services grow. Today, Gary Surdam is assisted by
over 40 Educational Facilitators. Surdam and his
Educational Facilitators, who all share his vision of literacy,
conduct workshops at schools all across the nation.
In
addition to Family Literacy workshops, Bright Start Educational
Consultants, Inc. now offers a New Bright Start
New Teacher workshop series, which has been
used with great success in California's public schools, and
a Leadership Academy strategic workshop
for school administrators and leaders. In every workshop,
the goal is to get to the "heart" of education with
easy-to-use information and a compassionate view of administrators,
teachers, parents and children.
Bright
Start Educational Consultants, Inc. addresses the unique literacy
needs of a changing educational system. Schools are teaching
more students with more diverse backgrounds than ever before.
And some students are not coming away with the most basic
of education's gifts: literacy.
Surdam
created Bright Start Educational Consultants, Inc. to help

and parents to help children succeed in school and in life.
